Subject: We of the U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, 1st Southern Region welcome you.
The 1st Southern Region extends from the middle section of New Jersey and New York to the Canadian border including the States of Connecticut and Vermont. It is comprised of nearly 4000 members, civilian volunteers from all walks of life. The thread that binds our members together is the desire to help educate the Recreational Boater in boating safety and assist the United States Coast Guard in its functions.
We donate thousands of hours doing Search and Rescue, Vessel Safety Checks, Public Education classes and Maritime Domain Awareness operations. With these common interests and goals, we benefit from the enjoyment of a fellowship that membership in this organization offers.

We Need You-- The Coast Guard Auxiliary is called upon to provide essential services to the Coast Guard as they focus more heavily on their military missions. We need all the help we can get. You needn't own a boat or be an experienced boater, since our missions are wide-ranging. For information about Auxiliary missions and the Auxiliary in general, go to our Join the Auxiliary web page. You will find there a form through which you can ask that a local Auxiliarist make contact with you to explore the ways in which you can assist Team Coast Guard.![]()
